For camping, hunting or backpacking, and around the farm or homestead, a folding hand saw is one tool you’ll never regret buying. There are a lot of cheap models on the market with flimsy blades that easily bend or break, teeth that dull prematurely and handles that delaminate, disintegrate or otherwise deconstruct.

Not so the Taskmaster 2  – it offers great value in a well designed, high quality tool that is a pleasure to use.

At 9″ folded (15-3/4″ open) and just under 8 ounces, it’s a perfect size to carry around in a backpack or attached to your belt. The 7-1/4″ blade is just under 1/16″ thick – not so thin that it will easily kink or break – and is nickel plated for added wear resistance. It has lovely large triple ground teeth (7/32″ long) that give a smooth and efficient cut on both the push and pull stroke, which makes for very aggressive cutting, whether sawing green, wet or pressure-treated wood. And that 7″ blade gives a nice stroke length.

The glass filled nylon handles have a textured rubber overlay that not only adds a high degree of comfort, but practically eliminates handle slipping when your hands are wet.

While the Taskmaster 2 makes quick work of small diameter branches it can also handle tree limbs in the 3″ to 4″ diameter. The long 8-1/2″ handle is easy to grasp with two hands when sawing thick stock.

To open or close the blade you simply push a button. In both the open and folded position the blade is securely locked in place – there’s no chance the blade will inadvertently disengage.

The Taskmaster 2 offers great value in a well designed, high quality tool that is a pleasure to use.
