I understand teak is very hard on tool edges. That would be a disadvantage in my book.
Hi Jim – Lots of exotic woods are ‘hard’ on edge tools, more so than a lot of domestic woods. I’ve used teak on and off for over 30 years and I wouldn’t consider it to be difficult to process at all – just ensure you’re using carbide blades, and keep them sharp.
