The tools are identical in design, but different in size. The smaller Pocket Gauge has just over 2″ of adjustment range while the larger Shop Gauge has 4-1/4 “. Both use a set of interlocking racks to index the two halves of the gauges in perfect 1/32” or 1mm increments. Switching from inch to metric is simply a matter of flipping the two racks end for end.
