Flush trim base for compact & mid-sized routers

Flush trim base for compact & mid-sized routers

Strongsville, OH – Northeast Ohio tool manufacturer, Woodpeckers, recently announced its new Flush Trim Base for palm and mid-size routers. Trimming solid wood edge banding with a router is typically carried out with a flush trim bit and the router balanced on the narrow edge…a method that takes careful focus and can lead to chipping. The Flush Trim Base takes a different approach to this task. With your router oriented vertically, you can use a spoilboard bit for cleaner, chip-free trimming. The wide base references the face of the panel for increased stability. And, it works just as well when trimming down through tenons, exposed dowels, and more. Simply dial in the router bit a few thousandths above the surface and you’re ready to start trimming.

With three different ways to guide the cut, the Flush Trim Base can tackle any edge banding project. Use the included fence to speed up production on shelves with one or two edge bands. The fence can be removed and replaced in seconds for edge banding that wraps all the way around the panel. Use a pilot bearing rabbet bit to quickly and accurately trim banding on curves and arcs.

The Flush Trim Base starts with a 6″ x 15″ solid phenolic plate. Where the router mounts, the phenolic has been machined to create a relieved area that will clear anything 1/8″ above the panel face. The base is drilled to fit most major brands of trim routers and 1-1/2 hp routers with the standard Porter-Cable* three-screw baseplate.

Woodpeckers has focused on the needs of hobbyist woodworkers since 1988 and began manufacturing the majority of their offerings in 1993. The company makes precision layout tools, router tables and lifts, innovative clamping tools, carbide router bits and a wide variety of helpful shop products. Their facility houses a vast array of computer-controlled mills and lathes and employs over 100 skilled American workers.
